How these methods fit together

Chinese Medicine is one system rather than a menu of separate treatments. In practice a single appointment often draws on several of the methods above, chosen for what the presentation calls for on the day rather than booked individually. Only massage and the longer combined appointments are booked as their own sessions.

For pain and musculoskeletal presentations

Acupuncture is usually the core of treatment, often alongside cupping, gua sha or Tui Na massage where there is muscular tightness or restriction. Where a pattern is being maintained by how you move or hold yourself, qigong movement therapy addresses that directly. See pain management and musculoskeletal care.

For internal and long-standing conditions

Chinese herbal medicine carries much of the work here, prescribed individually and adjusted as a presentation changes, with acupuncture alongside it. Moxibustion is used where a presentation has a cold or depleted quality. This is the approach behind Chinese internal medicine and chronic condition support, covering digestive, respiratory, hormonal and fatigue patterns.

Where needles are unsuitable

Laser acupuncture stimulates the same points without needles, which suits children, needle-averse patients and sensitive areas. It can be substituted for part or all of a treatment.

For stress, sleep and emotional wellbeing

Mindfulness and breath practices are taught alongside treatment rather than sold as a separate course, and sit within the wider mental health approach. Healthy ageing care draws on the same methods with a longer horizon.

One practitioner, every visit

Dr Francesco Pennisi (Acupuncture) treats every patient at both the Balmoral and Alexandra Hills clinics. That continuity is what makes combining methods across a course of treatment coherent: the same person is tracking what was tried, what shifted, and why.
