Results Acupuncture’s Alexandra Hills clinic provides acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine to patients across the Redlands. It is one of two clinics in the practice — the other at Balmoral, in Brisbane’s inner east — and both are run by the same practitioner, Dr Francesco Pennisi (Acupuncture), who has more than thirty years of clinical experience and hospital training at Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Advanced Chinese Medicine — thirty years of clinical precision.
To make an appointment, call (07) 3820 2887 or book online.
Where is the Alexandra Hills clinic?
The clinic is at 8 Borrowdale St, Alexandra Hills QLD 4161 — about a seven-minute walk from Alexandra Hills Shopping Centre, with off-street parking at the door. It sits close to the centre of the Redlands, which is what makes it reachable from most of the bayside. Consulting hours are Monday to Friday 8am–8pm and Saturday 8am–1pm; closed Sunday.
Which Redlands suburbs does the clinic serve?
Alexandra Hills sits near the geographic centre of the Redlands, which puts most of the bayside within a short drive. Patients travel to the clinic from Capalaba, Birkdale, Cleveland, Thornlands, Wellington Point and Ormiston, from Victoria Point and Redland Bay to the south, and from Sheldon and Mount Cotton inland.
For patients closer to the river — Bulimba, Hawthorne, Morningside or Cannon Hill — the Balmoral clinic at 222 Riding Rd is usually the shorter trip. The same practitioner works at both, so you can be seen at either, and your clinical records follow you between them.
What treatments are available at the Alexandra Hills clinic?
The Redlands clinic offers the full range of methods available across the practice:
- Acupuncture — for musculoskeletal presentations, pain and internal conditions
- Chinese herbal medicine — formulas prescribed individually and adjusted as a presentation changes, with attention to interactions with any prescribed medicines
- Cupping therapy and gua sha
- Moxibustion
- Laser acupuncture — a needle-free option, used where needling is unsuitable or not wanted
- Qigong movement therapy
- Remedial and Tui Na massage
- Ear candling, and telehealth consultations by arrangement
Several of these are used within a single appointment where the presentation calls for it, rather than booked separately. Fertility and IVF support, internal medicine, pain management and sports and musculoskeletal care are all provided from this clinic.
Who will I see at the Alexandra Hills clinic?
Every patient is seen by Dr Francesco Pennisi (Acupuncture). He is registered with the Chinese Medicine Board of Australia through AHPRA in both acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine, and is a member of the Australian Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine Association.
His training includes hospital placement at Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, where he worked across internal medicine departments. He has also taught and supervised clinic at Endeavour College of Natural Health, and authored core curriculum in the field.
You will see the same practitioner at every visit. That continuity is not incidental: a treatment plan that changes over weeks or months depends on one person holding the whole picture — what was tried, what shifted, and what the pulse and tongue were doing three months ago.
What happens at a first appointment?
The initial consultation runs 45 minutes. Before your first visit you will receive a welcome email with a link to our intake form, which you complete online beforehand. It covers internal organ function in some detail — it is longer than most, and it often surfaces symptoms people have not previously connected to one another. Filling it in ahead of time means your appointment goes on assessment and treatment rather than paperwork.
From there, the examination includes tongue inspection and pulse diagnosis, which in this clinic is a substantial part of the assessment rather than a formality. The pulse is usually checked again during treatment, and the points used may be adjusted in response.
You will generally receive treatment at the first visit, and leave with a clear sense of what is proposed and over what period. If herbs are appropriate, that will be discussed rather than assumed.
If your presentation warrants medical investigation, you will be told so. Chinese Medicine here is intended to work alongside your GP and any specialists involved in your care, not in place of them.
Is there parking at the Alexandra Hills clinic?
Yes — there is ample off-street parking at the clinic, close to the entrance. Entry is step-free and the clinic is on the ground floor.
How do I get to the clinic by public transport?
The nearest stop is Cumberland Drive, served by route 264 from Capalaba. From the Brisbane CBD, route 250 runs to Alexandra Hills Shopping Centre, from where the clinic is about a seven-minute walk.
How do I make an appointment?
Most patients telephone the clinic on (07) 3820 2887. If you would rather not call, appointments can be booked online at any hour. Current fees for each appointment type are listed on the booking page. HICAPS is available at the clinic, so private health rebates can be claimed on the spot where your fund covers acupuncture. New patients are welcome and no referral is needed.
If you are unsure whether Chinese Medicine suits your situation, telephone and describe it — we are happy to talk it through before you book.
