Results Acupuncture – Booking & Clinic Policy
At Results Acupuncture, we are committed to providing safe, effective and professional care. To ensure the best experience for all patients, please read our clinic policies carefully before attending your appointment.
1. Treatment Consent
By booking and attending an appointment, you acknowledge and consent to the performance of acupuncture and other Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) therapies as clinically appropriate. These may include:
- Acupuncture (including electro-acupuncture)
- Moxibustion
- Cupping
- Gua Sha (dermal scraping)
- Infrared heat lamp
- Tui Na (Chinese therapeutic massage)
- Exercise therapy and rehabilitation techniques
- Breathing and mindfulness techniques
- Lifestyle, nutritional, and wellness counselling
Potential Sensations & Side Effects
While generally very safe, some temporary reactions may occur:
- Mild soreness at needle sites
- Light bruising or small hematoma
- Temporary fatigue or light-headedness
- Reddish or purple marks from cupping and Gua Sha lasting up to two weeks
- Rare risk of infection (single-use sterile needles are always used)
For your safety:
Please inform your practitioner immediately if you experience discomfort, dizziness, unusual symptoms, or if you need your treatment modified at any time.
Significant movement during needling may cause injury; remain still and relaxed while needles are inserted, retained, or removed.
Consent remains ongoing throughout your care, and you may request to pause, change or stop treatment at any time.
2. Privacy & Information Sharing
Results Acupuncture collects personal and health information solely for the purpose of providing high-quality clinical care.
- Your information is kept strictly confidential.
- Details are only shared with your GP, specialist, or referring practitioner with your permission or when clinically appropriate for coordinated care.
- We comply fully with Australian Privacy Principles (APP) and AHPRA confidentiality requirements.
3. Herbal Medicine & Product Refund Policy
Under Australian Consumer Law, herbal medicines and therapeutic products cannot be refunded for change of mind, as consumables cannot be resold once they leave the clinic.
Faulty or damaged products will be replaced in accordance with consumer law.
4. Appointment & Cancellation Policy
Your appointment time is reserved exclusively for you. To respect both your practitioner and other clients who may need urgent care, the following applies:
Cancellation or Reschedule
- 24+ hours’ notice: No fee
- Less than 24 hours’ notice: 50% of the appointment fee
- No-show (no communication): Full appointment fee
These fees are automatically charged to your card-on-file or due before your next appointment.
Running Late
If you arrive late, your session may be shortened to avoid impacting the next patient. The full appointment fee still applies.
Confirmations
Appointment reminders are sent by SMS/email. These are a courtesy only—you remain responsible for keeping track of your booking.
5. Children, Pregnancy & Medical Conditions
Please inform us if you:
- Are pregnant or undergoing IVF
- Have a pacemaker, blood disorder, or implanted device
- Are prone to fainting or dizziness
- Are taking blood thinners or have recently changed medications
- Have a contagious illness (you may be asked to reschedule)
6. Health & Safety
- If you are unwell with fever, flu, gastro or Covid-like symptoms, please contact us to move your appointment.
- For hygiene and safety, we may refuse treatment if illness or risk factors are present.
- We do not permit smoking or vaping on clinic premises.
7. Payment Policy
- Payment is required at the end of each session.
- HICAPS is available for on-the-spot rebates.
- Unpaid invoices must be settled before future appointments are booked.
8. Agreement
By booking an appointment, you confirm that:
- You have read and understand this policy.
- You consent to the treatments described.
- You accept responsibility for providing accurate medical information.
- You agree to our cancellation, privacy, and refund terms.
