Results Acupuncture’s Balmoral clinic brings acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine to Brisbane’s inner east. It is one of two clinics in the practice — the other in Alexandra Hills, serving the Redlands — and both are run by the same practitioner, Dr Francesco Pennisi (Acupuncture), who has more than thirty years of clinical experience and hospital training at Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Advanced Chinese Medicine — thirty years of clinical precision.

Where is the Balmoral clinic?
The clinic is at 222 Riding Rd, Balmoral QLD 4171, directly opposite Willow Cafe. Consulting hours are Monday to Friday 8am–8pm and Saturday 8am–1pm; closed Sunday. There is ample off-street parking close to the entrance, and entry is step-free on the ground floor.
Which suburbs does the Balmoral clinic serve?
Balmoral sits in the middle of Brisbane’s inner east, and most patients come from the surrounding riverside suburbs — Bulimba, Hawthorne, Morningside, Cannon Hill, Norman Park, Seven Hills and East Brisbane — along with Camp Hill, Carina and the city itself, which is only a short drive or ferry ride away.
For patients on the bayside — Capalaba, Cleveland, Birkdale, Victoria Point and the wider Redlands — the Alexandra Hills clinic at 8 Borrowdale St is usually the shorter trip. The same practitioner works at both, so you can be seen at either, and your clinical records follow you between them.
What treatments are available at the Balmoral clinic?
The Balmoral clinic offers the full range of methods available across the practice:
- Acupuncture — for musculoskeletal presentations, pain and internal conditions
- Chinese herbal medicine — formulas prescribed individually and adjusted as a presentation changes, with attention to interactions with any prescribed medicines
- Cupping therapy and gua sha
- Moxibustion
- Laser acupuncture — a needle-free option, used where needling is unsuitable or not wanted
- Qigong movement therapy
- Remedial and Tui Na massage
- Ear candling, and telehealth consultations by arrangement
Several of these are used within a single appointment where the presentation calls for it, rather than booked separately. Fertility and IVF support, internal medicine, pain management and sports and musculoskeletal care are all provided from this clinic.
Who will I see at the Balmoral clinic?
Every patient is seen by Dr Francesco Pennisi (Acupuncture). He is registered with the Chinese Medicine Board of Australia through AHPRA in both acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine, and is a member of the Australian Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine Association.
His training includes hospital placement at Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, where he worked across internal medicine departments. He has also taught and supervised clinic at Endeavour College of Natural Health, and authored core curriculum in the field.
You will see the same practitioner at every visit. That continuity is deliberate: a treatment plan that unfolds over weeks or months depends on one person holding the whole picture — what was tried, what shifted, and what the pulse and tongue were doing three months ago.
What happens at a first appointment?
The initial consultation runs 45 minutes. Before your first visit you will receive a welcome email with a link to our intake form, which you complete online beforehand — it covers internal organ function in some detail, and filling it in ahead of time means your appointment goes on assessment and treatment rather than paperwork.
The examination includes tongue inspection and pulse diagnosis, which in this clinic is a substantial part of the assessment rather than a formality. You will generally receive treatment at the first visit, and leave with a clear sense of what is proposed and over what period.
If your presentation warrants medical investigation, you will be told so. Chinese Medicine here is intended to work alongside your GP and any specialists involved in your care, not in place of them.
How do I get to the Balmoral clinic?
Buses run along Riding Rd, and the clinic is a short distance from the Bulimba ferry terminal for patients coming across the river by CityCat. Driving is straightforward, with ample off-street parking at the door.
How do I make an appointment?
Most patients telephone the clinic on (07) 3820 2887. If you would rather not call, appointments can be booked online at any hour. Current fees for each appointment type are listed on the booking page. HICAPS is available at the clinic, so private health rebates can be claimed on the spot where your fund covers acupuncture. New patients are welcome and no referral is needed.
If you are unsure whether Chinese Medicine suits your situation, telephone and describe it — we are happy to talk it through before you book.
